The Belgian travelling theatre company, Les Baladins du Miroir, have been performing in French-speaking countries for 40 years, from Quebec to Switzerland, from France to Africa, where they have raised their marquee in the heart of towns and villages. Founded by Nele Paxinou, Marco Taillebuis and Benoit Postic in 1980, the company specialises in popular and festive theatre, a repertory theatre with versatile artists bringing live entertainment. Music, voice, dance and circus artistry give a festive dimension to the creations of the company and enable the troupe to present major works in a highly accessible manner to all audiences.
The demesne of Stampia is an exceptional site of 7 hectares situated in Jodoigne. Becoming the company’s base in 2015 thanks to the support of the Province of Brabant Wallon, the Stampia project is part of a desire to create a cultural centre for the creation of travelling shows, a space for residencies with artistic and technical support as well as an area for shows and events for the public. A space “where all is possible”, the Stampia, an area of continuous creation, allows other artists to take up residency even when the Baladins are on tour.
