After crisscrossing the roads of Wallonia, France, Switzerland, Quebec and Niger, there is one border that the Baladins had not yet crossed: the linguistic border. After 40 years of travel, we continue to open doors and tear down barriers. In July we will play for the first time Désir, Terre et Sang after the work of Garcia Lorca in a multilingual version at the Zomer van Antwerpen; the opportunity to present our latest creation directed by Dominique Serron.
We will therefore resume the tour with a major challenge: an adaptation of the show in which the actors play in French and Dutch, sing in Spanish supported by a video installation with surtitles of the dialogues and contexts of the play. Once again, the troupe will defend a complete show and make the text live thanks to the visual universe, body language, music, dance…
Les Baladins du Miroir and the Zomer van Antwerpen unite to create a theatrical project that plays with linguistic boundaries. Our itinerant theatre remains more than ever a tool for immersion and inclusion aimed at breaking down geographical, social, economic and cultural barriers. Convinced that sharing contributes to enriching each other, we defend a theatrical universe that is accessible to all and that invites the spectator to the party!
So, this summer, the party will start in Antwerp and continue its route south through Namur, Spa, Thoricourt, Jodoigne and Tomblaine in France.
Tot straks!
